Zenith Bank Donates Laptops to KNUST: In a very public display of corporate social responsibility, Zenith Bank Ghana Ltd has donated 20 laptops to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The outermost layer is to support students in their academic pursuit and enhance technology in the university.

This recent donation indicates the bank’s commitment to the development and promotion of education and technological advancement. Zenith Bank, therefore, has an age-long relationship with KNUST. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank/Ghana/Ltd led the Bank’s delegation in a brief ceremony on presentation. He indicated that although the bank had mentioned Technology in its core values of People, Technology, and Service, the institution was particular about human development for the sustenance of the said developed technology. The bank’s mission is to invest in the best people, technology, and environment in a bid to promote innovation and excellence.

Onwuzurigbo promised to deepen and further develop an even stronger relationship with KNUST. He explained that the donation is part of a larger strategy by the bank to create a collaborative ecosystem that benefits both the institution and the community. “We are trying to equip the next generation with the right skills and resources to help them thrive in an increasingly digital world.”, he added.

The Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Rita Dickson, expressed her gratitude to Zenith Bank for such a timely donation. The contribution as she said would aid in meeting the demand for many students who applied for laptops through the university’s online request portal. Prof. Dickson assured that they would act responsibly and give the laptops to her students in order to facilitate learning and improve the academic experience they offer.

Conclusion

It is for this reason that Zenith Bank’s move of donating laptops to KNUST is greatly commendable because it only shows how much the bank cares about the development of education and technological growth in society. The contributions that the bank has made are primarily for the benefit of the students in their studies; however, this has only served to tighten the bond between the bank and the university. Both parties will be optimistic about future engagements in the advancement of innovation and excellence in education.
