HOW TO CONNECT TO KNUST WIFI ON ANDROID

Knust offers paid Wi-Fi connections to every student in every academic year. The amount to be paid is added to your school fees. Sadly, some of the students find it difficult to connect to the school’s Wi-Fi. Many students try many times with no avail, and in the end, they give up because they are frustrated. It is very bad when you cannot access something you have paid for, but today marks the end of your wifi connection problem because this post gives you a seamless step-by-step guide on how to connect to the knust Wi-Fi on your Android phone. Without wasting your time, let’s delve into the reason why you came here.

HOW TO CONNECT TO KNUST WIFI (VERSION 10 AND BELOW)

  1. Open your phone’s ‘Settings’ and select ‘WIFI’
  2. Turn on the Wi-Fi to search for ‘KNUST WIFI’. NOTE: The KNUST WiFi works only on campus.
  3. Tap on EAP Method, and under it, select TTLS.
  4. Again, select PAP under Phase 2 Authentication.
  5. Enter your KNUST email (Yourusername@st.knust.edu.gh) and password. IDL students have their KNUST email in this format: Yourusername@idl.knust.edu.gh.
  6. Do not touch the ‘Anonymous’ field.
  7. Tap on Connect, and you are good to use KNUST WiFi on your Android.

HOW TO CONNECT ON ANDROID VERSION 11 AND ABOVE

  1. First, you need to download the KNUST WiFi configuration profile or the EDUROAM configuration profile. Tap here or here to download each, respectively.
  2. Go to your phone’s ‘Settings’ and, using the search button, search for ‘Install Certificates’.
  3. After, tap on the ‘Install Network/WIFI certificates’
  4. Step 3 will redirect you to a folder; kindly select downloaded files from ‘Downloads’ (i.e., KNUST WIFI configuration or EDUROAM WIFI configuration).
  5. Type in ‘knustwifi’ for KNUST WIFI and ‘eduroam’ for EDUROAM.
  6. After entering their respective names, tap on’Install”
  7. Now, go to your phone’s ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Wi-Fi’ and turn it on.
  8. Select ‘KNUST WIFI’ or ‘eduroam’ from the list of Wi-Fi networks that will appear.
  9. Choose ‘TTLS’ under ‘EAP Method’
  10. Again, under ‘CA Certificate’ tap on ‘knustwifi’ or ‘eduroam’ depending on the one you chose in step 8.
  11. Select ‘Do not validate’ under ‘Validate’
  12. Under the ‘Domain type’ field, type wifi.knust.edu.gh for ‘KNUST WIFI’ and eduroam.knust.edu.gh for EDUROAM.
  13. Type in your KNUST email (Yourusername@st.knust.edu.gh) and password. IDL students have their KNUST email in this format: Yourusername@idl.knust.edu.gh.
  14. Do not do anything to the ‘Anonymous Identity’ field; just leave it blank.
  15. Finally, tap Connect.
